Description
Main Purpose:
Under the direction of the Fabrication Manager, the Coatings Manager is a key member of the management team and plans, organizes, and directs all activities such as developing and administers departmental budgets, policies, labor relations, and other administrative duties as required to ensure projects are successful.
Essential Functions:
- Reviews work requests, determines cost and staffing requirements, sets priorities, and assigns work to be performed per Company and Project requirements
- Ensures the occupational health and safety of assigned employees are in accordance with company policy as well as industry standards and practices with the assistance of the Company Safety Department
- Promote Companies HS&E Program/Policies
- Maintain Viper program assures everyone is doing at least one card per week
- Plans, maintain schedule, monitor day to day progress, and manage man-hour budgets
- Assures through Superintendents and Foreman’s that 1st line inspection of work in progress is acceptable to applicable codes and standards, project specifications and quality assurance procedures
- Coordinates department activities with other departments and divisions as required
- Monitors performance of assigned personnel and conduct performance management as required
- Coordinates with Safety Department to ensure personnel are in compliance with regulatory training requirements
- Participates in employee recruitment and retention
- Monitors budgets and helps implement cost control strategies to ensure consistent budget performance
- Keep up with waste by making sure waste is picked up and disposed of in a timely manner
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements
Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift and/or move 25-50 pounds
Job Requirements:
- 5 years of Paint/Coatings Management experience.
- Manage performance of staff and maintain motivation of employees through positive and respectful leadership
- Create, sustain, and lead an organizational culture of safety
- Problem solving techniques
- Apply modern management techniques to achieve efficient and effective utilization of resources
- Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:
- Highschool diploma or GED.
- Managing personnel and equipment
Tools, Equipment, and Technology:
- Computers and Office equipment.
Environmental Conditions:
60-70% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
