Job Overview
Gulf Island is seeking a Construction Site Safety Expert to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe erection and dismantling of scaffolding on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Erecting and dismantling scaffolding to provide work platforms on the worksite
- Loading, unloading, and organizing scaffolding materials
- Regularly inspecting and maintaining scaffolding equipment to ensure it is in good working condition
- Using various hand tools to assemble and disassemble scaffolding
- Selecting materials and fitting them together to create a stable scaffolding structure
- Creating platforms by placing planks over horizontal bars
- Checking levels in the scaffolding structure to ensure stability and safety
- Identifying potential safety hazards and taking necessary precautions to mitigate risks
Requirements:
- 2 years experience as a scaffold builder
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work day or night shift on a 7 day, 12 hour schedule
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must be able to pass a background check
