What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scaffolding Manager position at Gulf Island?
Main Purpose:
The Scaffolding Manager supervises, coordinates, plans, and executes scaffolding projects and operations, which includes but is not limited to labor and equipment associated with the scaffolding department.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of the scaffolding division and team, ensuring tasks are completed and materials are prepared according to project timelines, quality specifications and safety standards
- Develop man-power requirements to commence and complete projects
- Work with the human resources team through hire requests, interviews, hiring, etc.
- Manage, supervise, and support employees
- Allocate operational resources to meet customer and company requirements
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and project managers
- Supervise rental requirements, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and returned
- Prepare estimates from drawings and site visits
- Identify opportunities for training and development of employees to support their career advancement
- Support the execution of the company’s safety programs and ensure compliance with HSE policies
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field and/or 12 years of scaffolding management
- 5 years experience in scaffolding management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Environmental Conditions:
80% to 90% of the work activities are performed indoors. Outdoor activities, such as yard tours and job site visits, will be required as part of the role.
