Position Overview:
The Marine Construction Dock Crew Leader will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating dock projects using a 12' x 35' barge with a knuckle boom crane. Dock crew leader will ensure that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires leadership skills, hands-on technical knowledge, and the ability to manage a team of skilled laborers in a challenging and dynamic marine environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marine operations, safety protocols, and effective team management. A minimum of 2 years experience building docks is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, repair, and maintain docks based on the provided dock drawing.
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine the specifications for dock building.
- Install pilings, decking, framing, and other components of docks.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
- Perform inspections of dock structures to assess repairs or improvements needed.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Assist with other marine construction tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in marine construction or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a crew leader.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of marine safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve project goals.
