What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical/Mechanical Technician position at Gulfstream Steel & Supply?
Job Responsibilities
- Installation of electrical components and equipment on both commercial and industrial projects.
- Ability to read plans, specifications, and submittal data to ensure all equipment is correct and installed in accordance with National Electric Code and manufacturer's recommendations.
- Work productively with plant manager, project managers, co-workers, and other trades in a construction environment.
- Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
- Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
- Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
Qualifications
- Ability to identify wires accurately
- Ability to perform electrical tests, read results and diagnose and repair electrical problems
- Critical thinking
- Circuit knowledge
- Time management
- Strong work ethic
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid Driver's license
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- High school Diploma or GED preferred
