What are the responsibilities and job description for the Septic Technician position at Gulliford Septic and Sewer?
Gulliford Septic and Sewer is looking for an experienced truck driver/technician to serve our septic clients in and around the Central Illinois area (Champaign-Urbana is our main hub).
The septic technician will be responsible for the following duties:
- Pump and clean septic tanks and grease traps as directed
- Transport septic waste over land to company-designated wastewater treatment facility
- Locate and dig up tanks as needed/required
- Inspect trucks before and after trips
- Drain cleaning as needed/required
- Follow all DOT requirements for CDL drivers
- Strong customer service and communication skills needed
- Work with handheld company software to navigate to and from jobs and complete tasks
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Septic pumping experience (preferred)
- Experience driving heavy vehicles and/or equipment
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds (i.e., lift concrete lids and lengthy sections of vacuum hose)
- Must be able to work in ALL weather environments, hot or cold
- Current Class B (or A) CDL with tanker endorsement
- Manual transmission experience
- Clean driving record
- Familiarity with GPS navigation a plus, but will train
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem solving
- Ability to follow directions and be detail oriented

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
