Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail in room design and layout, with the flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This role involves significant physical work, and the ability to lift at least 60 pounds without assistance is required. The main work venue hosts a variety of events, including live concerts for up to 1,200 people, sit-down dinners for up to 500, and cocktail receptions for up to 800 guests. The incumbent is responsible for providing AAA 4-Diamond guest service. You must be courteous and efficiently interact with Guests to ensure their satisfaction, in accordance with all company standards, procedures, and policies.

In this Role:
- Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to the specifications outlined in event orders, including arranging tables, chairs, stages, and other furniture.
- Ensure that all equipment and decorations are properly installed and meet the design and layout specifications.
- Tear down and clean up after events, ensuring that the venue is returned to its original condition.
- Pay close attention to room design and layout details to create an aesthetically pleasing and functional event space.
- Follow detailed floor plans and diagrams to set up event spaces accurately.
- Adjust room layouts as needed to accommodate changes in event requirements.
- Transport, set up, and break down heavy equipment and furnishings, including tables, chairs, stages, and audio-visual equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance needs to the Wawyé Manager.
- Safely handle and store all equipment and furnishings to prevent damage.
- Assist event coordinators, vendors, and guests with set-up requirements and special requests.
- Provide excellent customer service and support during events to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate event set-ups and teardowns, which may occur at any time, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas, including storage spaces and event venues.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and use appropriate equipment to prevent injuries.
- All other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Must be currently enrolled in school.
- Previous experience in event set-up, banquet services, or a similar role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to follow event orders detailed instructions, and diagrams.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and support.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Ability to lift at least 60 pounds without assistance, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
- Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, and/or noisy and may contain second-hand smoke. Work may be performed in a small area with a 3 ft. wide access. Tasks performed from a sitting or non-sitting position. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned area. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and guests.
Work is typically in an open space glass atrium, multiple pools with sunlight exposure, and an average 80-degree temperature year-round. Work areas may be warm, cold, or noisy. Tasks may be required to be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
