Position Overview:
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects from conception to delivery. You will lead a team of professionals, including technicians and subcontractors, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. With your expertise and leadership, you will drive project success, foster client relationships, and contribute to the growth and reputation of our company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, in alignment with client requirements and project goals.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead and motivate a team of technicians and subcontractors, providing guidance, support, and direction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Budget Management: Manage project budgets effectively, monitoring expenditures, controlling costs, and ensuring optimal resource utilization to maximize profitability.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all electrical work meets industry standards, regulations, and client specifications, conducting regular inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery, develop mitigation strategies, and implement proactive measures to minimize disruptions and delays.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners, serving as the primary point of contact and addressing any concerns or requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Communication and Reporting: Communicate project progress, milestones, and challenges effectively to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, preparing regular status reports and presentations as required.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance among team members and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) in electrical project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor team members to achieve project goals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, or similar applications.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred but not required
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, OSHA) governing electrical construction projects.
- Knowledge of the following software is preferred: Viewpoint Construction Software, BHS estimating software, Bluebeam PDF, and Mircosoft.
