What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller position at Gunnebo Entrance Control?
Comprehensive financial leader who can take charge in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Looking for an enthusiastic individual who can deal with multiple issues at once and think on their feet. This role will work closely with a small knit team here in the US and abroad to close the monthly ledger, reconcile balance sheets, provide forecasting and ad-hoc reporting for US Manufacturing. Experience in D365 a major plus as we are migrating to this platform.
This is a fast-paced business that requires a lot of independent work from this role. The ability to work with a local team and broad-based global team is key. Need someone to be able to partner with global counterparts to help create best practices among the manufacturing sites.
- Aid month-end close process
- Journal Entries & Accruals
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts to the sub-ledger
- Update consolidated monthly accounting reports to corporate
- Update and publish monthly reports for review by US Controller and US VP
- Sales Forecasting, Order Intake, Invoiced Sales, P&L, Balance Sheet and other KPI reports from ERP system
- Work with Manufacturing Representatives monthly commissions
- Review and approve the commissions reports prepared by Plant Office Manager
- Update financial KPI data for Plant monthly review
- Provide analysis of the variances for the month against budget and forecasts
- Work closely with the plant team on AP and the extended finance team to ensure timeliness of receipts and ensure payments are timely to vendors.
- Help with management of onsite physical inventory for the plant – spares and warranty parts as well as production materials and finished goods
- Review standard costings for site – ensure proper margins in place
- Review at least annually – overhead, labor and variable cost rates for the site and ensure proper recovery to standard in place
- Complete annual cost roll for the site – inventory and rates to new budgetary standards
- Review sales and ensure proper revenue recognition
- Provide updates to US Controller on cash-flow forecasting – AP needs for manufacturing site
- Aid with Operating Cash Flow Forecasting – provide updates with the US Controller on inventory, AP and other accruals that impact Operating Cash Flows and Net Working Capital
- Provide ad-hoc analysis for a new plant that is growing and adding production / product lines
- Update the Sales Manager Commission Report monthly for accrual and approval by US VP and Director of Sales for payroll processing
- Monitor internal controls for the Plant and Team there
- Aid in the review and approval process for expense reports for the Plant Team and provide back-up to US Controller
- Work with US Controller on annual budget process for the Plant
- Provide forecast updates on jobs and costs for the Plant to US Team
- Help to ensure we are meeting sales targets and cost targets for the site
