Construction Operations Manager for midsize construction company with 30 years of managing/developing departments with an extensive background of estimating and project management that reports to ownership. A leader and critical thinker, ready to solve problems before they become obstacles. Self-starter construction professional with strong technical expertise on civil projects. Must be well versed in construction performance, construction operations management and competent in assuming delegated duties. A Proven track record for on-time completion with strong quality control experience and strengths in meeting deadlines and budgetary constraints while maintaining a safe work environment with consistent quality.
Responsibilities:
Provide senior leadership and strategic direction for the construction department
Oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling
Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the company's construction portfolio
Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity
Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
Lead and mentor a team of construction professionals to ensure successful project execution
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and integration of construction activities
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards
Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet timelines and budgetary goals
Skills:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
Proven experience in strategic planning and business development within the construction industry
Excellent negotiation skills to effectively manage contracts and vendor relationships
Proficient in operations management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
Qualifications:
10 years proven civil construction project management experience
5 years leadership experience
BS/BA in Business Administration or related field
OSHA 30 Card
Knowledge of DOT regulations and paperwork
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
