Automotive Supply Chain Manager Job Description
· Responsible for managing inventory levels for all parts to ensure supply for vehicle production
· Analyze back-order report, sales data and demand to plan procurement and schedule production
· Source factories/vendors for new projects or new products, negotiate costs and ensure quality product supply within reasonable lead time
· Creating and managing all SKUs and product information in the system
· Manage inventory, review open purchasing orders, work closely with vendors to arrange shipments with logistics to ensure delivery on time and no delay on production schedule
· Analyze inventory, purchasing costs, demand and generate inventory reports
· Work closely with the accounting department on inventory purchasing and planning
· Mitigate risk and ensure continuity of supply by constructing and executing a well thought out supply plan that fulfills the needs of the parts on time and with quality
· Execute purchasing transactions within scope area by issuing purchase orders for vendors and ensure delivery. Manage all relevant master data to ensure accurate and complete information
· Following bill process and documenting technician work process as needed
· Coordinate with the production team to determine cause of the rejected product and to drive appropriate changes to ensure elimination/reduction of those quality issues
· Partner with Management and Controller on implementing advanced supply chain strategies like long term purchases, design for manufacturing to reduce cost and improve quality
· Proactively manage inventory, prevent stock outs while optimizing the utilization of company working capital
· Developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors to ensure communication is smooth with real time delivery information and work in progress
· Monitor and manage costs to ensure adherence to project-specific budgets and forecasts
· Proactively update management and the production team on all critical supply issues
· Analyze supply chain data and report out metrics
· Communicate with vendors to ensure production on time and resolve production/supply problems
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or a similar discipline
· 3-5 years supply chain experience required, Automotive industry experience preferred
· Familiarity with Winworks and purchasing/planning functions, or equivalent inventory management systems
Preferred Skills or Experiences:
· Technical knowledge in the automotive industry, familiar with vehicle brands and models
· Proven success working on cross-functional new product introduction projects, completing cost models, and negotiating.
· Advanced skills in MS Excel & Project, able to create pivot tables, generate reports and analyze data
· Lean Six Sigma certification
· Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills
· Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving environment.
· Conducts all activities with the highest level of integrity
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
