Lead Architect
Northern Kentucky- Full Time/Direct Placement
Our client is a vertically integrated development, investment, design, construction management firm, owning major facilities in Ohio, Kentucky, Colorado, and other locations. Headquartered in Greater Cincinnati, they have developed properties locally as well as nationally, and are a pioneer in design-build methodologies and higher level criteria for buildings and business parks.
The Lead Architect will lead and manage the design, architecture, and traditional architect administration; as well as certain business-related organizational functions of the design department within the Company.
Conceptual & Schematic Design – Perform direct conceptual and schematic level designs and/or secure such services from consulting architectural partners depending on the nature, schedule requirements, and complexities and size of the projects.
Bidding & Construction Drawings – Secure services from individual partnering architectural firms to produce necessary plans and specifications for use in bidding, permitting, and construction of the defined projects. Procure, negotiate contract for services, supervise the work of the selected firm, and the scheduling of delivery of the above services.
Tenant Finish – Oversee, cause, perform work as necessary to service tenant designs, layouts, and drawings for multiple types of business tenants in office buildings, retail, restaurants, hotels and other types of projects.
Management & Project Administration
- Manage all third-party workflow, approval processes, code review and compliance.
- Recruit and hire design and other support staff according to approved (only) budgets and business plans for your sector.
- Schedule, manage costs both internally & with partnering consultants in design and engineering, approve payments.
- Perform what is commonly known as construction administration, supervise and inspect for quality assurance, accuracy; and create necessary "punch list” requirements for completion.
- Participate in the overall developmental and building process from start to finish.
- Be a "Sales Team Member” with an eye to bringing new businesses to the enterprise.
- Conduct value engineering, critique with regularity.
- Meet with clients, tenants, and ownership.
- Select materials and finishes, according to company approval processes.
- Study building systems and recommend for selections all major components.
- Study, know building codes and regulations, assure minimum compliance.
Core Criteria
- 10 years experience in the architectural design and administration sector.
- B.S in Architecture or Architecture & Engineering
- Registered Architect
- NCARB certification
