Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Employment Status: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday Second Shift (4:00 pm to 2:00 am )
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Pay: $25-$30/hour
Position Summary: Responsible for repairs and maintenance of machinery including but not limited to motors, conveyor systems, and production equipment. Uses hand tools, power tools, along with precision measuring and testing instruments to complete tasks. Diagnosis and repairs 480v, 220v, 120v, and low voltage electrical systems.
Essential Functions
• Remains attentive to potential safety hazards and makes appropriate repairs to maintain OSHA compliance. Responsible for keeping work areas clean and orderly while applying 5S techniques.
• Ensures production downtime is minimized through effective troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of machinery. Identifies downtime cause and finds solution(s) to prevent reoccurrence when applicable.
• Maintains accurate and up to date records of equipment, materials used and time required. Tracks, maintains and performs preventative maintenance of production, assembly and testing equipment. Makes minor repairs to tools and equipment as needed and notify proper personnel of required major maintenance.
• Performs weekly preventative maintenance assignments while prioritizing workload. Completes all listed check points and notifies supervisor if any deviations were deemed appropriate. Adheres to all safety and quality procedures.
• Completes assigned building maintenance tasks including but not limited to required plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
• Responsible for fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
• Recommends possible process improvements that will increase efficiencies and production quality.
• Keeps plant equipment and building in good working order including responsible for lubrication, plumbing, electrical fabrication, hydraulics, welding and carpentry.
• Communicates with other maintenance staff passing down relevant information to ensure smooth workflow. Confers with production staff to solve maintenance issues as necessary.
Other Duties
• Assists Engineering and outside contractors in the design, installation, and update of new or existing equipment.
• Conducts technical or research work as needed.
• Performs other Maintenance Technician duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements
• At least one year experience in the maintenance field required.
• Technical certificate in a maintenance related field such as electrical or mechanical or equivalent experience in maintenance preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Fabrication experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) Required
• Functional knowledge of manufacturing process equipment is required.
• Knowledge of tools, instrumentation, and test equipment.
• Working knowledge of industrial, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic control systems.
• Strong knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Safe forklift and pallet jack operating skills are required.
• Skilled in reading blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to self-motivate and work without direct supervision.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong ability to follow safe work practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office, other computer programs, and technology.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk on normal surfaces and sit; use hands for writing and keyboarding. The employee is occasionally required to lift, carry up to 35 lbs., push over 100 lbs. in a team situation stand, stoop, bend, walk on uneven surfaces, reach/stretch, and climb ladders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include visual acuity sufficient to read a computer screen and paper documents. Acute hearing is necessary for phone and in-person communication with fellow employees and other contacts.
Working Conditions
This position typically functions in a Production/Warehouse environment with occasional trips into the lab areas. There will be exposure to moderate noise levels, fumes, dust, chemicals, heat/cold, and allergens especially in the warehouse, production, and travel environments.
