Title: Bus Driver
Job Summary
Under direct supervision of the Transportation Director, transports students to and from school and makes other trips as assigned; observes all State Laws and District policies related to driving school buses and carries out required safety inspections.
Responsibilities:
Drive District bus to transport pupils to and from school
Drive District bus to transport students to extracurricular activities when assigned
Keep the interior and exterior of the bus clean
Carry out safety and maintenance inspections of the bus as required by law
Report unsafe bus conditions to the Transportation Supervisor immediately
Enforce bus riding regulations
Fuel the bus as required
Report when the bus needs to be serviced
Obey all traffic laws
Perform other duties when time permits between bus runs as assigned by the Transportation Director
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Maintain effective work relationships
Valid Driver's License and DMV clearance
Safe Driving Record
Knowledge of California laws and regulations pertaining to the driving of a school bus
Must qualify for a state of California license to drive a school bus and pass the required first aid course
Maintain student and staff confidentiality
Respect confidential nature of pupil records and school reports
Demonstrate correct written and oral use of the English Language
Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
Display appropriate interpersonal skills with staff, students, and parents
Able to prioritize work assigned
Pre-employment physical required
First Aid certification required
Requirements:

Paid training once you start working at GUSD
You must be able to:
Pass a DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance
Pass a pre-employment physical
Pass pre and post-employment drug screening tests
Pass the required first aid course
Hold a valid Ca. Driver's License and DMV clearance
Have a safe Driving Record
Qualify for the State of California License to drive a school bus
Able to obtain and maintain a bus certification
Be willing to train (must remain available and willing to drive for one year after training.)
