The Gutter is looking for a General Manager who is energetic, strong, and a natural leader. This person will lead by example and have great communication skills. Our business is growing, and we are looking for someone with an eye towards the future.
Customer service, FOH experience, and skill with office logistics are required. Our new GM will use creativity, guest satisfaction, employee dedication, and profit maximization to increase growth in the business. There will be bowling lane maintenance on the job, with in house training provided from our licensed mechanic.

COMPANY INFO
The Gutter Bar was founded in Williamsburg Brooklyn in 2007 with 8 vintage bowling lanes, a small music venue, and a focus on independent American craft beer. The Gutter Bar LIC was opened in Queens in 2017 with 8 lanes and a small kitchen / snack bar. The Gutter Bar LES, the third and largest location, opened in Manhattan in 2020 with 12 bowling lanes and a full kitchen that features a brick oven pizza. The Gutter Bar is still growing and new locations are on the horizon.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Controlling day-to-day operations
- Overseeing all FOH & BOH positions including scheduling, staffing, leadership, and assisting with HR duties
- Labor control including managing and developing floor managers
- Oversee asset & facility management
- Manage beer, liquor, food, merch, COGs including the creation and pricing of beer/bar and food menus
- Strategize with team on promotions & social media
- Oversee all avenues that drive revenue & maintain guest satisfaction
- Follow and maintain DOH standards and procedures
- Create a positive working environment for all employees
- Oversee management of bowling leagues
- Manage events and rental for productions etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years in high-volume bar/restaurant management
- P & L and COGS experience with a history of interaction with accounting personnel
- Experience in HR related responsibilities
- Extensive guest service and resolution skills
- Excellent computer skills including a knowledge of POS systems, Google Suite, Microsoft Excel and other programs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends and holidays
- Able to devise plans to meet and exceed goals set by upper management
- Must be able to work independently, demonstrate integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values
- Must be able to work under pressure and use sound business judgment
- NYC Food Handler Certification required
- Fluency in other languages a plus
- Bowling experience & basic mechanical abilities a plus

- $72,500 base salary with evaluation after first 3 months
