Position Summary
The Medical Director leads, supervises, and supports the medical staff in delivering patient-centered care. They will be tasked with developing and implementing clinical protocols and guidelines to ensure best practices across all clinical service lines. provides nursing and clinical direction and oversight for a group of nurses within the organization to ensure quality patient care. The Medical Director will be a key figure in creating collaborative partnerships with and between physicians, administrative leadership, and staff, in support of the patient care experience. This will include, but is not limited to, participating in patient rounds, case reviews, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Medical Director will monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided within each of the clinical service lines indicated below. This includes but is not limited to supervision, oversight and medical direction to the following service lines:
- Provide oversight and direction to clinical and ancillary staff
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Analyze clinical data and outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to maintain high standards of care.
- Foster collaboration among different departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Coordinate with other medical directors, Chairs and department heads to integrate services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external healthcare providers and organizations.
- Facilitate communication and information sharing among healthcare teams.
- Lead and participate in educational and training programs for medical staff.
- Contribute to the development of departmental budgets and resource allocation.
- Represent the department in hospital committees and leadership meetings.
- Address patient concerns and complaints, ensuring effective resolution.
- Stay updated on the latest medical research and advancements in the field.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services performed by all providers in care
- Provide leadership and oversight to the inpatient Palliative Medicine services.
Minimum Qualifications

Education
- Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certification in Palliative Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical Leadership experience.
- Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to patient care and quality improvement.
Physical Requirements
- Sit, stand, bend, reach, and walk for long periods of time in an office setting.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 20 lbs. as part of the role.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.
