The Department of Campus Recreation aims to provide fun, inclusive, and engaging recreational programming and facilities for the university's diverse community in the areas of intramural and sport clubs, fitness and wellness instruction and informal recreational opportunities.
Position Specific Summary
The Course Supervisor will help manage course facilitators in delivering high quality low ropes course programming to the GW community. The Course Supervisor will assist in choosing appropriate activities for a group, assist and prepare the course, and designing and implementing engaging, challenging, and safe activities for participants in conjunction with the Senior Outdoor Education Coordinator and assisting facilitators with program delivery while ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards. The Course Supervisor will also be responsible for communicating with participants, answering their queries and ensuring their comfort and safety during programming.
This position will start in spring of 2025 and will continue through the summer
Standard Position Description
The student will assist in the management and leading of special projects. Tasks may include : leading and organizing mid to large scale projects, designing project timelines and goals, performing research, coordinating with stakeholders and the project team, reporting updates and outcomes with project leaders, building and organizing leadership development programs for students, managing student staff. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
