SummaryThe GAP / ETCH Claims Department is responsible for administering APCO's GAP Deficiency Waiver Addendum and GAP Insurance Policy programs. These products are designed to assist customers in the event their vehicle is declared a total loss, but the insurance settlement is not enough to cover the loan balance owed on the vehicle. The department is also responsible for administering claims for APCO's ETCH Registration and Warranty products, which are designed to be a theft deterrent. In the event that a theft does occur and the vehicle is a total loss as a result, the ETCH Warranty and Registrations are designed to issue a payment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe GAP Claims Customer Service Representative will receive ACD Calls from customers, dealers, lenders, and any other parties pertaining to GAP Claims. The Customer Service Representative will also enter incoming mail and faxes into the GAP system, email correspondence with customers and lenders when appropriate and (if time permits) call the customer for missing information.The above statements are intended to only to describe the general nature of the job, and should not be construed as an all-inclusive list of position responsibilities.Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to handle up to 50 calls per day
- Computer literate with experience working with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong data entry / typing / 10-key skills
- Excellent attendance
- Excellent customer service skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Previous Claims experience is a preferred but not requiredPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type and look at a computer screen for long periods of the day.
