This is an opportunity to complete the entire first phase of the two-phase hiring process. Conditional job offers may be given during this event. Those attending will complete some or all of the following: a physical ability test (obstacle course comprised of 9 interspersed individual tasks), an orientation, a more detailed application, a credit check, and an oral interview. The entire process typically takes two to three hours, although it may take longer. It is suggested you bring water and a snack. Part of this event will occur outside.
Once your really application has been received, a recruiter will email you the information to get you setup with the event application. Once you complete the event application, your assigned investigator will call to set up an appointment time for the event. Those who have submitted applications but still need an appointment are still welcome, although wait times will be longer.
Salary:
**$5,100 hiring incentive for new hires**
$51,066 with possible incentives up to
$52,598 (includes a 3% pay incentive for an Associate's degree)
$54,130 (includes a 6% pay incentive for a Bachelor's degree)
The Gwinnett County Police Department is a nationally accredited and rapidly growing police agency located in the northeastern quadrant of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Department has an authorized strength of 930 sworn officers and 129 communications officers supported by 167 civilian employees with the responsibility of providing law enforcement services to approximately 900,000 residents within an area of 436 square miles. The department is a full service agency with numerous specialized units, to include Computer Forensics, K-9, Aviation, Technology Research, Accident Investigations, Training, S.W.A.T., Crime Prevention, Hazardous Devices, and many more.
Employees are trained to become Police Officers. Applicants must pass a series of tests and interviews before selection as employees. Once selected, individuals must complete academy requirements and, if successful, continue to field training assisted by veteran officers (PO Master or Corporals). This job requires a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace.
