Job Description
This position's responsibilities include complex financial research, analysis, and resolution. The Financial Analyst II must be able to complete tasks with consistency, thoroughness, and provide accurate financial information in a timely manner. The incumbent must be able to work independently, proactively, and effectively communicate with internal and external parties.

Essential Duties
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- Document processes and procedures
- Analyze and understand financial data in order to assist managers and other departments
- Establish rapport and maintain open communication with county departments
- Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts
- Manage the county’s capital assets for various departments
- Collaborate with county departments to ensure accuracy of financial information
- Assist with data analysis and problem solving

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field;
- Four years of professional level accounting experience;
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County’s values.
In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
