What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resources and Marketing Coordinator–Appointed position at Gwinnett County?
The Gwinnett County Communications Department is looking for a Media Content Producer to craft impactful stories that showcase Gwinnett County Government’s programs, initiatives, and services. In this role, the Media Content Producer will transform complex policies and public service messages into engaging video content, responsible for researching, pitching, writing, interviewing, shooting video, and editing stories from inception to distribution.
Essential Duties
- Crafting clear, engaging scripts that communicate government initiatives and services effectively
- Ensuring all content aligns with Gwinnett County’s brand identity and communication standards
- Discovering and crafting impactful stories that showcase the work of Gwinnett County Government departments and programs, creating compelling narratives that connect with the public and strengthen the organization’s image
- Working with public relations professionals, internal departments, and elected officials to gather information and create content that supports the County's communication goals
- Supporting the production of live broadcasts of the County boards and authority meetings for cable access television channels and social media platforms
- Adapting video content that drives engagement and traffic for multiple platforms, including cablecast, social media, and digital marketing
- This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays
- Demonstrating proficiency in using Adobe Premiere Pro post-production
- Demonstrating expertise in filming videos, using professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment
The grade for this position is 101. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or a related field AND
- Four years' experience developing and publicizing community programs.
- Experience requirement
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Additional requirements such as management/supervisory experience, licenses, and/or certifications
- Demonstrated ability to shoot, write, and edit high-quality content.

The County Administrator and County Attorney are appointed by the Board of Commissioners and serve at its pleasure. The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County’s values.
In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
