The Position:

The Controller will serve as a liaison to provide excellent customer service to all business leaders, employees, customers, and vendors/subcontractors, regarding all accounting functions. This position is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day supervision of the accounting department.

 

The Expectation:

  • Oversee and execute all aspects of accounting for growing SaaS company (i.e., billing, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and various special analyses)
  • Lead the monthly close process
  • Complete general ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with budgets and preparation of the financial package
  • Think independently and outside the box to solve problems or situations as they arise
  • Contribute to building and designing scalable, highly automated accounting and finance systems and procedures, including controls, documentation, and training.
  • Maintain the required level of technical knowledge, keep abreast of current developments in accounting, and process improvement technology
  • Maintain independent auditor relationships and coordinate audit engagements with oversight from the CFO
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements, including income and sales/use tax
  • Develop and mentor the accounting team, ensuring high quality and efficient execution of duties and growth in their skills over time
  • Other duties as assigned


The successful Controller will have:

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 5-7 years of senior accounting experience
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Expirence with Mergers and Acquisitions 
  • Knowledge / experience with accounting principles, accounting practices, and accrual-based accounting.
  • Knowledge / experience with revenue recognition, and other accounting practices related to software and SaaS companies is a plus.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between internal and external customers of the accounting department.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Work Location and Arrangement:

gWorks is a hybrid work environment,This position is looking for someone who is in or looking to move to the Omaha, Nebraska area.

  • For Omaha-Based Candidates: A hybrid work model, balancing remote work with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Compensation Range: 125,000- 150,000
