What are the responsibilities and job description for the ABSN and WBSN Program Coordinator position at Gwynedd Mercy University?
The Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing and Health Professions at Gwynedd Mercy University is seeking applications for a Program Coordinator and faculty in the Accelerated BSN (ABSN) and Weekend BSN (WBSN) Program. The ABSN/WBSN Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the ABSN and Weekend BSN Programs. This position reports directly to the Dean and works collaboratively with Associate Dean and each other to ensure quality and consistency in the ABSN and WBSN programs. Other responsibilities include teaching, student admission and advising, and participation in school, university, and professional activities. This is a full-time, 11-month faculty position, starting in August 2024. Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and teaching experience.
Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides oversight of the ABSN and WBSN Programs activities.
- Oversees the admission and progression of students in the ABSN and WBSN Programs.
- Oversees the ABSN and WBSN Program curriculum development, revisions and assessment.
- Oversees scheduling of the ABSN and WBSN courses and clinical placements in collaboration with the ABSN and WBSN Clinical Coordinator.
- Monitors course enrollment and works in conjunction with the Dean to prepare justifications for under-enrolled sections to run as full courses, independent study courses, or directed study courses, when needed.
- Reviews all program and course syllabi for discipline content, learning outcomes, assessment information, and other required elements.
- Keeps abreast of ongoing developments put forward by licensure bodies, accreditation bodies and institutions that serve as the national voice for specific programs and implements these developments into programs as indicated.
- Reviews and records evaluations data on ABSN and WBSN Program adjunct faculty.
- Oversees the collection of outcome data for the ABSN and WBSN Program.
- Attends assessment meetings, conducts periodic assessment of courses, and submits an annual assessment report.
- Annually drafts and reviews relevant copies of the University catalogs, program specific curriculum sheets and program specific Student Guidebooks.
- Promotes interprofessional initiatives in the School and University.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Doctoral degree in Nursing or Doctoral degree in a related field with a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
- A current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- A record of clinical and teaching experience in medical surgical, critical care, and/or community health nursing is preferred.
- Program oversight and/or leadership experience in higher education is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
