Job Summary
As a Front Desk Representative at GymTonic, you will be the first point of contact for our members and guests. Your primary responsibilities include checking in members, managing membership accounts, and operating our point-of-sale (POS) system. You will also oversee our pro shop, assist with scheduling appointments, and ensure a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. This role is essential in delivering a high level of customer service and ensuring smooth operations at our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and Check-in Members: Provide exceptional service by welcoming members and guests, verifying membership status, and handling transactions efficiently.
- Membership Management: Maintain accurate records of member check-ins, appointments, and facility usage using our computer systems.
- Point-of-Sale (POS) Operations: Handle payments, issue receipts, and manage cash handling for membership sales and pro shop purchases.
- Concierge Services: Assist with booking and confirming appointments, and provide information about gym amenities and special services, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Pro Shop Management: Manage inventory, assist with product recommendations, and maintain a clean and organized pro shop to enhance sales.
- Customer Support: Address member inquiries and resolve any account or service-related issues. Escalate to management as needed.
- Facility Coordination: Communicate with maintenance and housekeeping staff to ensure facilities are clean and operational at all times.
- Administrative Support: Assist with basic bookkeeping, record-keeping, and reporting tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certification or coursework related to fitness, customer service, or hospitality is a plus.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a fitness center, gym, or similar environment.
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
- Familiarity with gym operations and concierge services is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications such as Google Suite and Club Automation software.
Work Environment and Schedule
- This is a full-time position with a structured schedule.
- Front Desk Representatives are expected to wear professional, gym-appropriate attire and maintain a well-groomed appearance. A GymTonic t-shirt is required, along with a visible name tag.
- The role involves both routine and dynamic tasks, including handling check-ins, managing reservations, and resolving member issues.
