Load Planner
POSITION SUMMARY
The Load Planner will provide oversight and support by managing the resources [customers, traffic lanes, portals, etc.] assigned to their charge. This shall include monitoring customer load tenders via EDI, web portals, email, and phone communications. Managing fleet capacity for the region is critical for providing exceptional service to our customers and optimal performance of fleet assets & company resources.
Driver retention is crucial to the success of our business. As a Load Planner you must consistently ensure a high level of safety awareness and compliance while delivering exceptional customer service. You will strive to maximize Driver earnings while providing them with adequate home time over most weekends. Trip planning may vary based on customer requirements, seasonality, and the needs of the business.
In this role you will be expected to ensure safe & timely service for our valued customers. The safety of our employees, our customers and the motoring public is paramount. You shall ensure load plans meet company policy for Driver’s hours-of-service rules while subsequently meeting customer requirements for on-time delivery. The Regional Load Planner shall exercise independent and discretionary judgment when working with customers, brokers, carriers, vendors, and staff.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Provide logistical support for terminal operations team.
- Routinely collaborate with Terminal Manager to effectively utilize capacity of fleet resources.
- Maintain effective communications via phone, radio, satellite, email, messenger with Operations team.
- Accepts accountability for customer service & utilization of fleet resources in their assigned region.
- Drivers possess the accessorial equipment needed to safely transport cargo in compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies as well as customer requirements.
- Legibly and accurately complete required documentation for timely delivery to billing/payroll, administration, safety, human resources, and maintenance. Adhere to processing deadlines as directed.
- SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES:
- Attendance & participation at mandatory training events.
- Attendance & participation at regularly scheduled Safety Meetings.
- Assist Operations team, i.e. assist with special projects, coverage during vacations, etc.
