H&H Farm Machine Co., a leading manufacturer of custom agricultural sprayers is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our growing, family-oriented team! We specialize in the manufacture, service, and sale of sprayers for agriculture, landscaping, construction, experimental research, nurseries, poultry, livestock, and recreation. We have been proudly serving the agricultural industry for over 40 years and have been producing custom-made sprayers since 1978 (www.hhspray.com).
In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring uninterrupted production by procuring the necessary materials and components for our sprayers, including valves, pumps, tanks, and other specialized equipment. You will contribute to overall profitability by implementing effective purchasing strategies, collaborating with Sales and Production to forecast demand, and managing inventory levels to minimize costs and avoid stockouts. In addition, this role will also be overseeing the shipping and receiving of products and parts.
Responsibilities:
· Complete purchasing requirements for all parts, materials, and components used in our custom sprayer production, including supplier selection, price negotiation, and order placement.
· Analyze inventory reports and balance inventory levels of sprayer parts and components to meet production demands while minimizing costs and reducing stockouts.
· Collaborate with Sales and Production to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly for our custom sprayer builds.
· Maintain accurate inventory records for all sprayer parts and components, conducting regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
· Utilize our inventory management software, [Aspen], to track and monitor inventory levels and costs.
· Supervise the Inventory Control & Shipping/Receiving Clerk, overseeing operations to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
· Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure the best possible pricing and delivery terms for our custom sprayer parts.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
· Proven experience as a Purchasing and/or Inventory Control Manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
· A strong understanding of the manufacturing industry and its specific supply chain challenges.
