ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Create and maintain reports to accurately reflect current budgets, encumbrances, invoices and committed costs; projected-to-go or cost-to-complete estimates; budget variances; cash flow projections; and schedule of values for individual projects.

  • Perform accurate quantity surveys for all types of construction systems and materials.
  • Assist with the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all types of projects.
  • Maintain a library of historical labor rates, equipment rental rates, and material cost.
  • Assist with the maintenance and conformance of existing databases and libraries.
  • Assist with the intake, distribution, and archiving of estimating assignments.
  • Assist with the review of proposed change documents and pricing as assigned.
  • Assist with project document constructability reviews.
  • Attend meetings as assigned.
  • Make site visits with project/construction management as appropriate.
  • Performs work in a safe manner and actively encourage others to comply with safety rules and regulations.

Education And/or Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction from a four-year college or university.
  • Must have two (2) years of significant quantity survey and pricing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience as a project or field engineer desirable.

Skills And Competencies Required To Perform Tasks

  • Ability to read and interpret both drawn and written construction documents.
  • Ability to interface with various construction software applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before individual and groups of project stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts including arithmetic, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and probability to practical situations as required.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (drafting standards, formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) as required.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and evaluate the situation and make an accurate, timely decision.
  • Ability to lift and transport fifty pounds safely.

Relevant Knowledge Base

  • Knowledge of estimating software, computer digitizers, and other equipment
  • Knowledge of the organizational structure of the company

Essential Equipment And Software Requirement

  • Advance knowledge of all Microsoft Suites specifically Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Construction Management Software, Primavera P6 and EVM software and principals

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
