SUMMARY
The Project Engineer role will support the Project Manager and other project team members on data center projects in the area. Responsibilities include providing technical support, reviewing plans and other technical documents, answering questions regarding the scope and timing of projects, and monitoring costs and project progress.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This role has the following key duties and responsibilities
- You will help coordinate and manage the work of various contractors/consultants, track documentation, and evaluate contract issues such as pay applications, progress payments, changes, punch-lists and closeout activities.
- You will assist in the evaluation of progress and quality of contract activities in conformance with approved schedules and budgets.
- You will review bid package documents issued by design consultants for omissions, clarifications required, and for coordination between design disciplines.
- You will assist Project Managers and other members of the project team and help expedite resolution of any project problems.
- You will be responsible for obtaining Daily Reports from project Inspectors/Contractors.
- You will be responsible for maintaining change management control logs, submittals, and RFI logs.
- You will prepare documents and letters, and report meeting minutes as required by the Project Manager.
- You will participate in negotiation, preparation, and review of all Change Orders.
- You will be responsible for monitoring project close out and client occupancy.
- You will perform work in a safe manner and actively encourage others to comply with safety rules and regulations, including wearing of personal protective devices.
- You will be expected to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive company information.
- You will report progress on your assigned tasks to your supervisor and assist other team members as needed to meet the team's goals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 3 - 7 years of experience in construction administration of large, multi-million-dollar projects,
Key Skills and Competencies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for client presentations and technical reporting and correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and interface with all levels of project team, client team, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration; specific technical and contract knowledge in scheduling, estimating, contract administration, and cost control.
- Excellent computer skills; knowledge of all applicable computer spreadsheet databases and word processing software and hardware.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments and tasks for one or more projects.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Other Qualifications
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per week
- Ability to physically operate a computer, including a keyboard and mouse
- Ability to physically access working areas of a construction project site
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed to perform essential duties
- Must be able to travel to meet with management, clients, vendors, partners, or associations; or to attend conferences or training, as needed to perform essential duties.
