Summary
The lab of Dr. Marcelo Bonini at the Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a motivated Lab Manager . This position involves conducting specialized independent research at an advanced level, allowing for creativity in both theoretical and experimental applications. The Research Laboratory Coordinator will provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to Dr. Bonini's lab.
Dr. Bonini’s lab is interested in the mechanisms connecting the decline of the energetic metabolism that occurs during and epigenetic remodeling promoting gene expression patterns that promote carcinogenesis and tumor progression. We focus on how a switch in the functioning of mitochondria to promote reactive oxygen species production promotes chromatin oxidation with emphasis on histones and lamins. Our goal is to target these redox epigenetic processes to develop chromatin protective therapies useful to enhance existing and develop new cancer therapeutics.
