Summary

The lab of Dr. Marcelo Bonini at the Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a motivated Lab Manager. This position involves conducting specialized independent research at an advanced level, allowing for creativity in both theoretical and experimental applications. The Research Laboratory Coordinator will provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to Dr. Bonini's lab.

Dr. Bonini’s lab is interested in the mechanisms connecting the decline of the energetic metabolism that occurs during and epigenetic remodeling promoting gene expression patterns that promote carcinogenesis and tumor progression. We focus on how a switch in the functioning of mitochondria to promote reactive oxygen species production promotes chromatin oxidation with emphasis on histones and lamins. Our goal is to target these redox epigenetic processes to develop chromatin protective therapies useful to enhance existing and develop new cancer therapeutics.

•    Ability to conduct biological research experiments and analysis using scientific methods and techniques. 
•    Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. 
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities: 
•    Conduct and oversee experiments.
•    Supervise lab staff such as undergrad students, research associates, postdocs, & scientists.
•    Effectively communicate the results of analyses to researchers. 
•    Manage inventory and retrieve samples.
•    Communicating with collaborators to assess project needs and timelines.

Credentials and Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree with five years of relevant experience is required. Will accept a candidate with a Master’s degree and two years of relevant experience. 
•    Experience managing a lab is required.
