What are the responsibilities and job description for the Homeless Shelter Support Staff 3rd Shift position at H.O.M.E., Inc.?
H.O.M.E., Inc. is seeking a part time Shelter Support Staff member for our Orland based shelters for the following shift:
- Sunday to Wednesday 3rd shift 11:00pm - 7:00am
Support Staff are responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all shelter guests. Candidates should have a caring heart and be comfortable maintaining good boundaries while helping people in crisis. The Shelter Support Staff should be able to work independently as well as with a team. Experience in a helping profession preferred. Experience working in residential programs, a plus.
Part-time third shift Shelter Support position starts at $17/hr. Part-time employees receive accrued vacation and sick time as well as paid time off for birthdays.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- 1. Experience in a helping profession.
- 2. Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues of homelessness and poverty.
- 3. Effective written and oral communication skills.
- 4. Ability to set strong boundaries and work independently.
- 5. Basic computer competency.
- 6. Valid Maine driver’s license.
