Information on the division:
Located in Springfield, the 70 employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for the manufacturing of medium to large complex landing gear and titanium components.
As part of the Central Division you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.
With a strong focus on latest technology of the manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.
Summary:
Reporting to the Planning Supervisor, the Planner is responsible to plan, schedule and control all production order activities for assigned assembly work centers.
The Planner works closely with the supply base and the shop floor to identify and lead opportunities for productivity improvements, downtime avoidance, reduce lead-times and standardized ERP planning processes.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, release, and control production orders based on MRP requirements.
- Develop, communicate, and execute production schedules, material plans and inventory levels based on production demand, plant capacity, and the master production schedule. Coordinate with other departments to determine status of assigned jobs.
- Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Adjust schedules according to production progress, change orders, shipping considerations, or other conditions.
- Analyze MRP data to ensure accuracy and that materials are on schedule. Advise on critical parts requiring reschedule.
- Follow-up with Purchasing to ensure material and components are available when needed.
- Set HT and NDT targets
- Participate in daily Production meetings to review previous day’s results and discuss current and future production.
- Understand yields/NCR’s and impacts to MRP.
- Track and report progress against the production plan, measure, and report performance to plan.
- Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Prepare production reports.
- Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and communicating daily reports reflecting inventory, customer allocations and work orders.
- Analyze plant capacity data and work to level load production throughout the facility.
- Responsible for planning and schedule related ERP parameters.
- Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the business.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in business, supply chain, or engineering preferred.
- CPIM designation preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in production scheduling, master scheduling, materials controls, or materials management or equivalent experience.
- Experience in planning and scheduling multiple jobs, projects, and management of planning and scheduling resources.
- Experience with business-wide ERP/MRP systems required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Walking and ability to put work-books/travelers together
- Spend time in the factory as needed
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Ear protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes)
