Division info:

Located in Livonia, Michigan, the 120 employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for design, development, manufacturing, assembly and support of landing gear, actuation systems and other aerospace components.

As part of the Central Division you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs supporting Boeing, LockHeed Martin, Parker Hannifan, and military initiatives such as the B-2 Stealth, F105, and V280.

With a strong focus on latest technology of the manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

Summary of position:

• Provides proficient procedural and administrative support to department managers and engineers
• Ensures documentation compliance with the Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 Latest Revision
• Documentation control as it applies to Procedures, Work Instructions, Routers, PCRs, ECOs, FAA, Customer documentation, etc.
• Training Matrix and record management
• Basic understanding and reading blueprints
• Internal Audits
• Documenting Procedures
• Generating reports and working within our ERP system
• Adherence at all times to Company policies and procedures and health and safety requirements
• Any other reasonable duties as assigned
  
  

Main responsibilities:

• Maintains/Updates QMS documentation and revision control for the electronic version of the QMS
• Maintain all electronic filing of QMS documentation
• Reviews all closed work orders for correct information, sign offs, technical data etc. and scans them to the electronic filing system
• Ballon Engineering Prints for the purpose of First Article Inspections as needed
• Manages process Change requests (PCR’s)
• Track, manage, maintain all AS9100 training for new and current employees
• Coordinate the random drug screening program, which includes the required FAA report creation/submission
• Provides expertise to all departments by recommending and implementing strategies and processes to enhance use of systems and controls
• Leads the development and implementation of departmental best practices, strategies, policies/procedures and standards within the documents control area
• Follow & maintain aerospace documentation protocols according to AS9100 requirements, including maintaining, storage, protection, archiving, etc. to ensure compliance with AS9100 and maintain our certification
• Participate in internal audits
• Responsible for understanding and communicating document handling techniques and for adherence to the document control procedures as well as company policies, procedures and health/safety requirements
  
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-5 years experience
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
• Impeccable accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Strong written, analytical, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of AS9100 and audit requirements and their applications
• Knowledge of customer requirements
• Experience in various electronic drawing file formats
• Strong understanding of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat
• Thorough knowledge of documentation and engineering terminology
• Experience in managing records within an electronic document control system
• Leadership and human relations skills in order to communicate and tactfully enforce policy and compliance specifications to staff, management, and customers
