MEP Project Manager

H2M architects engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental and consulting firm in the NY Metropolitan Area seeks a project-level Mechanical Engineer to join our Melville, NY office Although their work may be hidden in ceilings, behind walls, and under floors, H2M’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers treat it like the main event. With a focus on developing detailed, quality drawings, they meet with each client to establish the full scope of work before putting pen to paper. Come join our multi-disciplined team of architects, engineers and environmental scientists in our Melville office.  We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 5-7 years’ experience in a consulting engineering firm designing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.  In this role, you will work with other MEP engineers as part of a multi-disciplined design team.  Working with architects, civil engineers, and environmental scientists, you will be executing mechanical engineering design work for both public and private clients.  You will also coordinate the efforts of both in-house and outside teams who handle equipment selection, layout design, load calculations and specifications. Join our diverse team of passionate employees who deliver excellence to our clients every day.    Job Responsibilities   Project supervision and coordination with other engineering and architecture departments within the firm. Preparation of construction drawings and specifications for public and private bidding. Direct communication and follow up with clients in support and coordination of all project related activities. Technical leadership, production and scheduling, quality control and cost proposals. Responsible for the on-time, on budget and high quality technical delivery of all project requirements. Management/Supervision of junior level staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer license preferred.   Minimum 5-7 years of HVAC design experience and at least 3 years of project management experience in a consulting firm or related environment. Experience with local municipalities, government agencies a plus. Must have demonstrated technical leadership experience, overseeing a project and working with clients. Ability to mentor/supervise junior level staff. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually. The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications – not related to any applicant’s characteristics protected by local, state or federal law.  Note: The salary or hourly rate indicated does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
