H2M architects engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm, seeks an experienced Sr. Human Resource Generalist to support HR and Talent Management services for employees in our Parsippany and Wall, NJ offices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the employee experience and will demonstrate a strong commitment to H2M’s mission, vision and core values.
Responsibilities:
This position will support the employees and managers located in our Parsippany and Wall, NJ offices with full cycle HR services. Will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and will work closely with HR Business Partners located in our corporate office for the related business to ensure consistency in approach and application of HR programs and resources. The position will focus on the following areas:
Talent Acquisition:
Responsible for the recruitment efforts for New Jersey based on annual hiring projections, turnover openings and additional openings added through the year.
Source qualified candidates utilizing recruitment tools like LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, other social media and industry platforms along with our ATS. Manage employee referral program and courtesy interview strategy and coordinate and attend recruitment fairs and events.
Update and prepare job descriptions and job advertisements. Work closely with the Marketing team and business units to implement an advertising approach.
Conduct initial interviews and coordinate interview schedules. Review candidate potential and assist with final decisions with hiring manager(s).
Communicate and prepare offers of employment.
Administer background screen and assess results.
Onboarding and New Employee Experience:
Lead and coordinate communication efforts (both internally and with the new candidate) to ensure a smooth onboarding.
Create a welcoming first day experience for new hires, coordinate onboarding schedule and perform HR onboarding on first day.
Ensure all onboarding documentation and system records are complete and accurate.
Perform new employee check-ins during the first week, at 30 days and 90 days and convey/communicate the details or themes with the business partner supporting that employee’s team.
Employee Departures
Perform employee exit Interviews and preparation of exit documentation.
Lead internal communication for departing employees.
Analyze trends in exit survey data and communicate recommendations or issues with key stakeholders that may affect positive change in the organization.
Complete any unemployment related documentation.
Employment Law and Policy
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new HR technologies, talent management, and employment law.
Researches and develops policies to in response to legal landscape in line with H2M strategy.
Employee Relations
Perform employee relations activities surrounding such actions as employee terminations, warnings and proactive coaching. Writes disciplinary documentation and separation release agreements in line with corporate policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain successful working relationships with the key stakeholders to ensure effective HR processes, advice and support.
Exercise the utmost confidentiality and demonstrates a strong, neutral Human Resources perspective during all interactions.
Promote high level of professional standards, positive interpersonal relations and a problem-solving approach in all situations.
Leaves, work with Payroll and Benefits team to handle benefits payment,
Maintains an open line of communication with the HR Business Partner and Director of HR on all HR matters.
Other Responsibilities
Assist in communication and administration of leaves of absences.
Ensuring understanding and completion of Growth Map and employee development programs for groups
Handle benefits management not limited to answering employee questions and concerns, creating reports, HCM maintenance and assist with open enrollment.
Utilize HCM reporting and data analytics to analyze and communicate KPIs and trends.
Prepare compensation and salary surveys and report on the same.
Complete verifications of employment when necessary.
Assist in the development and implementation of various employee programs, events and activities.
Other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications:
8-10 years of progressive HR experience with an emphasis on employee relations, talent acquisition, preferably within a professional services environment.
Master’s degree in human resource management or SHRM / HRCI certification preferred, bachelor’s degree required.
Outstanding interpersonal, relationship building and employee coaching skills. Ability to interface with staff and leadership team at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource on HR matters to employees and management.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Power Point, Abode Acrobat X Pro. Must have knowledge in Human Capital Management Systems (HCM). Dayforce experience a plus.
Excellent follow-up skills and ability to shift priorities based on business needs.
Ability to make independent decisions and handle difficult workplace situations in a calm and discreet manner.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to think analytically and comprehend / explain HR metrics.
Excellent record keeping habits with a keen eye for data inconsistencies.
Intuitive interviewing and people skills.

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $100,000 annually.
The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications – not related to any applicant’s characteristics protected by local, state or federal law. Note: The salary or hourly rate indicated does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
