Continuing Education Specialist
Position
H2O Partners is a woman-owned business specializing in training for the National Flood Insurance Program, hazard mitigation planning, mitigation grant development and management, mitigation training, and floodplain management and administration at the local, state, and national levels. H2O Partners works with a diverse set of clients including cities, counties, school and hospital systems, universities, councils of government, river authorities, state-level departments, federal entities and other unique stakeholder groups nationwide.
Position Summary: The Continuing Education Specialist is responsible for filing continuing education credits for insurance agents and adjusters to state departments of insurance after they have successfully completed a qualified seminar or webinar.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Will support the CE Manager and training delivery team
· Will accurately report continuing education filings to Departments of Insurance (DOIs) and DOI vendors nationwide including submission of instructor approval submissions and course approvals
· Participate in weekly team meetings
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma required; College degree preferred or equivalent experience. 2-5 years of experience in a support role within a fast-paced organization required
· Quick learner who is detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
· Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize and appropriately handle highly sensitive and confidential information
· Positive and proactive multi-tasker with a strong sense of urgency and a “get things done” attitude
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Exhibit strong work ethic to include dependability, confidentiality, and trustworthiness
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work as part of a remote team and be self-motivated
· Professional demeanor and presentation
Travel:
May consist of 25% or less annual travel. Be able to travel to attend professional development conferences, deliver post-disaster classroom training nationwide and occasional meetings at FEMA Headquarters.
Background Check:
Since this position is under a federal contract, you must at least go through a basic background check to make sure you're reliable, trustworthy, and suitable for the job. The background check process starts after you accept a job offer.
H2O or the federal agency will ask you for the necessary personal information to start the background investigation process. The amount of information you'll need to give depends on the job. Regardless of the type of background check, you will at least need to answer questions about where you've lived, worked, went to school, and any military history or police records. You'll also need to have your fingerprints taken. A federal trust determination process will include but not limited to:
1. Credentialing
This process determines if the Federal Government may issue you an identity card that allows access to federal facilities and information systems.
2. Suitability/fitness
This process determines if you have the required level of character and conduct necessary to work for the Federal Government.
