Responsible for a variety of tasks in the base assembly process of manufacturing custom air handling units. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
This position requires an assessment that judges a candidate’s ability to read print, measure, and weld through the process of creating a metal box.

- Be proficient in reading and understanding prints
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and come up with a workable solution
- Constructing structural components from raw materials.
- Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.
- Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed.
- Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed.
- Using welding equipment to fuse structural components.

- Proven experience working as a fitter.
- The ability to use hand and power tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Mechanical skills and knowledge of basic machinery, including computers, tools, collaborative robots and other devices
- Ability to follow demonstrated instructions
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
- Read and understand blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
- Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks, such as climbing ladders and bending often.
- Physical strength to lift heavy machinery, tools and components.
- Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to manipulate and assemble very large and extremely small components.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA)
- 4 years of Fitter experience
