We have a vacancy for a Commercial Operations Analyst to join our team based in Austin, Texas. This role will build and maintain operational processes for more than 1 GW/1.5 GWh of grid scale battery storage including telemetry definitions and data mapping, warranty tracking, process development, and metric setting. Work closely with the Data Science and Software teams to integrate an additional 1GW pipeline of battery and renewable resources as well as financial structures for the trading team to manage.
Your responsibilities will include:
Asset & client onboarding
- Support a dedicated list of Habitat clients in initial onboarding and technical integration as well as in on-going reporting of operational metrics
- Update Habitat operational processes to programmatically incorporate new resource classes such as wind solar and solar/storage hybrid assets.
Asset planning & reporting
- Identify operational metrics based on asset warranty, market design, and industry best-practices and develop methods for reporting and improving performance
- Support the Data Science team in optimizer calibration and testing efforts
- Lead the Software Team’s work on mapping of asset and market data per internal Habitat requirements and market ICCP protocols.
‘Must have’ skills and experience:
- Interest in the energy sector and particularly decarbonization technologies
- Proficient in Excel, Python, SQL
- Dashboard design creation experience - Power BI, Python webapps, etc.
- Comfort managing large datasets and building tools
- Statistical Analysis
- Ability to work diligently and professionally under high pressure situations
- Passion for learning, competition
- Interest in working with both engineering and commercial teams
- Patience in high energy environments
‘Nice to have’ skills and experience:
- Operations Research Background
- Power Markets (especially ERCOT) familiarity
- Battery Health Management Background
- Familiarity with basic trading terminology
- Grid-scale battery engineering development operations
- Controls engineering familiarity
- Experience with SCADA systems and other HMIs
- Background in optimization, ML-based forecasting, data-piping experience
- Comfort presenting to clients, board members, prospective clients
