JOB DESCRIPTION: Accounting Clerk/Office Assistant
Habitat for Humanity Choptank is seeking a part-time Accounts Payable Clerk responsible for accounts payable and other administrative duties as assigned. This position reports to the CFO but may also occasionally be asked to perform work for the CEO. Specifically, s/he will be expected to:
Responsibilities
· Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data into Quickbooks Online in compliance with financial policies and procedures
· Process deposits and ReStore sales in Quickbooks Online
· Process monthly loan delinquency letters and manage follow-up/communication with appropriate parties internally as well as with the homeowner
· Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
· Complete month end Journal Entries as directed by CFO
· Tracking approved vendors and ensuring compliance (i.e. updated W-9 and COI on file)
· Provide general administrative support as needed for the CEO and the CFO
· Become certified as a Notary
· Other duties as assigned and as availability dictates
Requirements and skills
· Proven working experience as Accounts Payable Clerk
· Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
· Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
· Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
· Proficiency in Quickbooks, Excel and MS Office
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Self-motivated individual with the ability to function both independently and as a team member
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task when faced with competing deadlines and priorities with timely and consistent attention to detail and follow up
· Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential material with integrity
· Maintain a consistent professional image through dress, actions, and relationships with others, modeling Christian principles and Habitat values
Hours: Flexible Part-time hours to be arranged
Compensation: $17-22/hour

Since 1992, the nonprofit has built or rehabbed over 110 homes in partnership with local working individuals and families. These homes are purchased by qualifying, low-income buyers with affordable mortgages empowering them and their families to build stability, strength and self-reliance in their community.
