What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead II, Deconstruction and Logistics position at Habitat for Humanity of G?
Position Purpose:
The Memphis ReStores are currently expanding their services by adding a deconstruction program. Team members will gently extract reusable building materials prior to demolition or remodeling. The salvaged building materials and supplies, such as kitchen cabinets, countertops, and appliances, will be sold at the ReStore. The team is looking for a ReStore Lead to assist the Logistics Manager with deconstruction projects as well as truck logistics when no deconstruction projects are scheduled.
Essential Functions of Position:
Deconstruction Program- Assist the manager of deconstruction with safely removing usable materials from donor projects. These materials include but are not limited to: cabinet sets, vanities, appliances, doors, windows, etc
- Safely and efficiently load all remaining materials onto ReStore truck and transport them to the scheduled ReStore
- Unload all product and stage on ReStore floor to best attract shoppers
- Operate under all necessary safety precautions, OSHA construction and demo standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment onsite, in company vehicles and in ReStore
- Record and care for all tools and equipment
Lead Donation Driver- Drive and or ride in truck to pick up donated goods and operate vehicles within local, state, and federal guidelines
- Use software to communicate with donor and complete pick-up
- Ensure quality customer relations, and address comments and grievances in a professional manner
- Unload, price and manage donation inventory acquired through all ReStore box trucks.
Serve as Project Lead on large off-site donation pick-ups
Assist In ReStores
- Assist in either ReStore location when deconstruction or pick-ups are not scheduled
- Assist with leading volunteers in ReStore display and merchandising projects
- Lift and move product through warehouse to sales floor
- Operate forklift if certified
- Make minor repairs to donated product and assist in assembly of product
Work to Maintain Safety Standards- Work with Senior Leadership team to ensure all ReStore facilities and vehicles are safe environments
Collaboration:- Be an active member of the ReStore team.
- Communicate timelines and logistics with ReStore sites
- Embrace innovative ideas and be willing to adjust accordingly
- Regularly report out and solicit feedback from team on current and future work
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in residential construction or repair work required
- Demolition/Deconstruction/Salvaged Material experience preferred
- 3 years experience driving company vehicles
- Reliable and timely.
- Passionate about safety.
- A self-starter and a team player simultaneously.
- Able to thrive in fast paced environments.
- Eager to learn.
