What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Development position at Habitat?
SUMMARY :
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of donor fundraising efforts for HFHGC. Focus is on building and maintaining a donor-centric model of fundraising. Responsible for developing annual plans and strategies that will grow the donor base of HFHGC in both number and engagement. Responsible for supporting the work of the entire development staff as they seek to continue to help fund the mission of HFHGC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Collaborating with the President, Leadership team, staff and Board to develop short- and long-term development plans that compliments the goals outlined in the strategic plan. Prepares comprehensive annual fundraising plans and monitors processes.
- Maintain a donor-centric fundraising model
- Recommend fundraising policies, practices and procedures to support organizational growth
- Perform donor and prospect research for corporate, organizational and faith community, foundation, civic and individual giving to determine giving potential
- Lead and coordinate partnership and major donor giving programs and activities. Recruit, train and appropriately utilize President, staff, board members and volunteers in fundraising efforts
- Ensure appropriate recognition and follow up with partners and donors in timely manner
- Oversee all corporate in-kind gift efforts for construction and ReStore
- Speak to groups both publicly and privately promoting Habitat Greenville's mission
- Help in the development of departmental budgets and monitor expenses related to development function
- Ensure that all partnership commitment forms are agreed upon and signed by partner and that payment schedules are agreed upon
- Provide accurate development reports to management
- Ensure that all donation revenue is tracked, and the donor database is up to date.
- Maintain close collaboration and support with all other departments within HFHGC
- Provide input into organizational planning and other departments as needed
- Set and maintain a culture of personal professional development and keep organization informed as to trends and new developments
