The Co-Director, Marketing & Communications Division (Marketing) is responsible for overseeing the strategic execution, optimization and operational management of marketing across the organization. The co-director will manage and lead a cross-functional team, ensuring the delivery of high impact campaigns that align with the organization’s strategic objectives, increase brand awareness and affinity, and drive membership and fundraising growth. The co-director be accountable for ensuring operational efficiency and driving effective strategies to elevate the organization’s brand presence to the public and to attract members and donors.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the strategic development and execution of robust advertising, marketing and branding campaigns to enhance market presence and support achievement of revenue objectives. Implement a cohesive strategy for brand awareness, brand loyalty and positioning in target markets. Ensure all marketing initiatives and materials are aligned with the organization’s brand values, voice, and look and feel.
  • Co-leads the division with Co-Director, Marketing & Communications Division (Communications), who oversees strategic communications, crisis and internal communications, PR and media relations, and social media. Ensure that areas function in tandem. Work together to streamline and improve workflows, realize efficiencies, and reduce time to market. Together, set standards for quality control, project management, and performance reporting. Collaborate on annual and strategic planning process and integrated marketing and communications plans. Foster seamless integration and execution of initiatives across teams. As partners, develop and manage the Marketing & Communications Division budget, ensuring the effective allocation of resources and monitoring spending. Maximize ROI on marketing initiatives by optimizing resource utilization and identifying cost-savings opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor and manage the Creative Services, Marketing, Digital Communications, Multimedia Communications, and other teams as assigned, ensuring a collaborative and results-oriented environment. Foster professional development by setting clear performance expectations, providing constructive feedback and creating growth opportunities within the team. Develop and manage team structure and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal performance and timely execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee the creation, execution and measurement of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, and events. Ensure all campaigns maintain brand consistency and effectively communicate key messages to target audiences. Oversee the implementation of brand identity, ensuring consistency and alignment across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Optimize campaign performance by analyzing key metrics and making data-driven adjustments. Track and report on key performance indicators to assess success of marketing initiatives and ROI. Prepare regular performance reports for senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide consulting expertise and serve as a trusted adviser to shape the marketing vision, identify growth opportunities and navigate challenges withing the marketing landscape.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform marketing strategies and keep the brand at the forefront.
  • Manage and oversee relationships with external marketing agency and contracted resources for video and photography, and manage their performance

Required Knowledge, Education, Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; an advanced degree is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years supervisory experience in marketing and strong familiarity with fields related to marketing - e.g., public relations, advertising, social media – and philanthropy
  • Proven track record developing and executing significant branding and marketing campaigns with measurable ROI.
  • Strong managerial skills and leadership experience with proven ability to build, manage, mentor, motivate, and hold accountable to high standards, a diverse results-driven team, with a commitment to excellence.
  • Experience managing complex budgets and reporting.
