What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Assistant position at HADASSAH?
The Finance Assistant provides administrative support to the department, with a particular focus on the needs of the CFO/COO and National Treasurer. This position will also be concentrating on detailed and complex tasks with regard to handling and tracking financial instruments and responding to questions related to financial matters.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to the CFO/COO and National Treasurer including arranging travel, preparing expense reports, etc.
- Handles initial receipt and deposit of non-donation and non-membership checks including the processing of certain credit card payments.
- Maintains an inventory of the documents held in the safe and retrieve items from the safe upon request.
- Cash petty cash checks
- Provides support to Director of Financial Planning and Analysis by gathering and distributing monthly financial reports.
- Prepares year-end audit confirmations which includes bank/investment accounts and legal confirms.
- Signs for documents and packages for the department.
- Uploads journal entry backup to Intacct.
- Prepares schedule of monthly transactions on the corporate credit card (JPMorgan Purchase Card).
- Fields general questions from donors and staff.
- Other duties as required
Education and Experience
- BA or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Computer proficiency.
- Financial background preferred. Proficiency with numbers and general finance procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
