Minimum 40 Hour Work Week (Full-Time)
Responsibilities and Duties :
Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts
Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures
Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications
Qualifications for Diesel Mechanic :
5 years of experience Diesel Mechanics and Truck Mechanics
5 years of experience with tooling, supply management and mechanical inspection tools
Driver’s License with CDL Class B, CDL Class A strongly preferred
Class 7 inspection license preferred ; class 3 minimum
Experience with state inspections, PM services, electrical wiring installation and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair
Must have a technical understanding with attention to detail
Demonstrate dependability, thoroughness and excellent verbal communication skills
Hours
The location is open 6 days a week. The schedule may vary and flexibility is a must.
Typical start time of 7 AM and a typical work week is 45 hours.
