What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving & Inventory Specialist position at Hagadone Marine Group?
Key Duties & Responsibility
Inspects all incoming shipments / packages for damage, opens boxes to verify the quantities, pricing etc of the packing slips to match purchase orders, then processes into Dockmaster according to the Parts Departments SOP's.
Organizes, labels and stocks products into their proper locations on inventory shelves / bins, while identifying, condensing and documenting locations for future products.
Assigns locations for new products and when reorganizing, condensing shelf space.
Generates, maintains lists for all manufacturer short shipped parts for new inventory boats.
Identifies & marks parts with work orders numbers, then sends email notifications to proper personnel.
Coordinates with Purchasing to return shipments to manufacturers and businesses using department SOP for doing Vendor Return processes.
Keeps Inventory and Will Call areas organized with all floor space clean, free of clutter, boxes including keeping cardboard and garbages emptied.
Assist Purchasing with monthly cycle counting of all inventory.
Safely operate a forklift, handtrucks, pallet jacks and small ladders.
Other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager.

Excellent attention to detail with strong ability to accurately read & differentiate part numbers.
Better than average math skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
Able to work independently and within a team environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be reliable, punctual and able to work 40-44 hours per week, as scheduled.
Able to work a variety of shifts if necessary, which includes days, weekends and holidays.
Able to walk and stand on your feet for 8 hours at a time.
Ability to walk up / down stairs carrying boxes.
Safely navigate year round local weather conditions.
Ability to properly lift up to 70lbs as necessary.
Adhere to all company, department, desk cleanliness and dress code policies on a daily basis.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year shipping & receiving experience, forklift experience a plus.
Knowledge of Dockmaster, ERP or Inventory management system preferred.
Marine or automotive knowledge and / or parts experience is preferred.
Certificate from a manufacturer parts program or shipping / rec program preferred, but not required.
Ability to speak and listen effectively one on one or in a group.
Ability to interpret directions and customer needs correctly.
Moderate computer skills with experience in Google Workspace and MS Office preferred.
