Job Title: Maintenance Groundskeeper

Reports To: Superintendent

Location: Haggin Oaks Golf Complex

Rate of Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 hr

FLSA Status: Hourly, non-exempt,Full Time

Position Overview
Morton Golf is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper who will be responsible for performing routine labor involved in golf course maintenance. This includes semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work, operating small hand-powered equipment, and occasionally operating large equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set tee markers and cups on greens daily; maintain ball washers; replace tee towels and flags as needed; remove debris; sand and seed tee and drop area divots; clean flower beds.
• Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all equipment daily; report equipment problems or failures to the equipment mechanic immediately.
• Water and fertilize tees, greens, and fairways; under supervision of a certified applicator, spray chemicals on landscaped areas.
• Assist in project work including the construction of new greens, tees, and fairways; grade and prepare soil base; lay sod; seed tees, greens, and fairways.
• Install forms and lay walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes; excavate and backfill ditches and trenches with hand tools; repair and replace pipe on irrigation systems.
• May operate mowers, dump trucks, or other light equipment.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Landscaping or golf course maintenance experience required.
• High School diploma recommended but not required.
• Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must possess a valid California Driver’s license.
• Flexibility to work outside exposed to weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work M – F weekends as needed.
• High level of professionalism and dedication.
