In this role, the Senior Advanced Systems Engineer will develop new innovative products and new technologies to support our growing HVAC business. Position Senior Advanced Systems Engineer - HVAC Location USA, Louisville, KY How You'll Create Possibilities Product generalist proficient in overall architecture strategy understanding all subsystems, modules, and critical components. Ability to independently develop subsystems based on product requirements. Demonstrate understanding and anticipate subsystem level interactions, and their impact on overall architecture. System Thinking – Full understanding of HVAC functionality & performance “levers”. Subsystem Interactions – Understanding of product subsystems and common interactions. Regulatory Items – Understanding of product impacts of regulatory requirements as it pertains to ASHRAE, DOE, and AHRI standards. Competitive Analysis – Basic knowledge of the HVAC competitive landscape. Applies systems knowledge to assess bugs discovered in an application and understands consumer impact, likelihood of occurrence, and overall exposure. Expert knowledge of product function & performance tuning through parametric data. Leverage knowledge to improve diagnostic outcomes. Full understanding of product subsystem architecture and interfaces. Leverage knowledge to improve diagnostic outcomes. What You'll Bring to Our Team Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree. 7 years’ experience in product design and development. Minimum 3 years of relevant HVAC engineering experience Experience specifying and designing components for HVAC equipment. Understand performance levers to optimize system operation. Experience using sensor inputs and outputs to develop operational algorithms. Demonstrated problem solving skills with a passion for learning. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization. Ability to design, build, and execute a test plan and clearly present data to a diverse group and openly challenge technical issues. Ability to work in a global environment. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software packages. Up to 10% domestic/international travel required. Preferred Qualifications 7 years of HVAC systems industry experience. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams. Vision for developing new product strategies. Expertise in Applied HVAC products.
