Mixer

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the assigned machine through the utilization and implementation of the standard operating procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Knowing what mixes are required to be made during the shift
• Closely follow guidelines when producing the mixes
• Communicate with the other processing stations regularly to determine when to make the next mix
• Follow established quality specifications
• Work in a safe manner, being aware of things around you
• Have proper knowledge of product handling and the ability to differentiate between products
• Strive to comply with the vision statement of Hain Celestial
• Communicate any concerns or deviations to supervisor in a timely manner
• Responsible for food safety and quality
• Responsible for reporting food safety problems to supervisor
• Work in a professional manner within station and with other stations
• Train other mixers as required
• All employees are responsible for food and safety quality
• All employees are responsible to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Perform other duties as instructed by supervisor

• Ability to use a pallet jack

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Completion of Grade 12
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 55 lbs to chest level
• Comfortably able to perform repetitive motions using finger, wrist and shoulder joints
• Bending and twisting of the torso
• Ability to remain standing for several hours

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, cold/hot - vice versa
• Wet / slippery floor
• High noise area
• Ability to work around moving conveyors, forklifts and equipment
• Damp working environment
• Must wear personal protective equipment as required
