THE ROLE: :
The Accounts Payable Specialist position performs a variety of clerical accounting tasks related to the processing of accounts payable records, invoices, company receipts, sales tax, and other special projects as assigned or requested. The position is responsible for reviewing and processing the payables within the company policies and procedures. This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and reports to the Finance & HR Manager.

The Accounts Payable Specialist position performs a variety of clerical accounting tasks related to the processing of accounts payable records, invoices, company receipts, sales tax, and other special projects as assigned or requested. The position is responsible for reviewing and processing the payables within the company policies and procedures. This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and reports to the Finance & HR Manager.
THE JOB:
- Reconcile company credit card statements
- Sales team expense reports
- Assist with Inventory reconciliation
- Assist with Bank reconciliation
- Internal workbook reconciliations for GL verification
- Sales team commission reports and calculation for payroll and month end
- Enter monthly GL adjustments for payroll accruals, depreciation, & inventory reconciliation
- Monitor & maintain corporate travel accounts
- Research and audit financial accounts as requested
- Create reports and financial analysis as requested
- Uphold professionalism by providing courteous customer service to visitors, clients, and vendors
THE SKILLS NEEDED:
- General understanding of accounting practices and principles
- Experience with automated accounting programs and systems
- Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Self motivated and ability to work independently
- Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data
- High attention to details; ability to take directions, self-check and follow up on work
- Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
