What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Accountant position at Halco Lighting?
Responsible for managing day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable/cash, and inventory.
Responsibilties
- Entering, reviewing, and verifying invoices against purchase orders for payment processing.
- Identifying and resolving any discrepancies in financial records.
- Reconciling inventory valuation and counts from distribution centers.
- Posting and tracking all payments and transactions.
- Setting up vendor accounts, processing 1099s, and reconciling purchasing card statements.
- Assisting with accounts receivable functions such as payments, invoices, and statements.
- Supporting month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience, preferably in a distribution-based or manufacturing business.
Education requirement
- Bachelors degree
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge/experience using an integrated ERP system; experience with Epicor Eclipse is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience in VLOOKUP and Pivot tables preferred.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
